The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Personal Comment
The Humor
Besides all the Good vs Evil, there are elements of humor in this movie. I am sure that you can laugh while enjoying the movie, as the film is funny compare to the trailer.
I think this is because Jay Baruchel is able to act innocent, especially his look is really damn innocent.
SPOILER starts,
the scene where Jay Baruchel is train by Nicholas Cage to use the Plasma energy ball is definitely entertaining. Not just acting, even the way the dialogues are funny! end.

Effects
since the movie talks about magical adventure & imagination, so most of the time the actors are acting infront of Green Screen background. This is the best way to produce a better visual effects.
SPOILER starts,
I love the part how they turn fake creatures into a real creatures. The Dragon summon by The Wizard call Sun Lok, definitely a good effects without 3D end.

Perfect combo
Combo? What combo? You see everyone actor have their own characteristic.
Nicolas Cage looks COOL, by wearing a black suit all the time.
Jay Baruchel looks HONEST, you think that he is one dumb ass but you are wrong.

Alfred Molina looks EVIL, the way he act like he is the best of all.
Toby Kebbel looks STYLISH, yeah his wearing really took my attention.

Teresa Palmer looks so SWEET, I love her smile, but too bad, she doesn't really act in most of the scene, the important part she will be acting is the climax.

Overall: moderately entertaining, visual effects thumbs up, straight to the point, not draggy, only lacks of chemistry bonding at the Love story for eg: Nicolas Cage is in love with Monica Belluci.

Personal Rating:
Plot: 7/10
Effects: 8/10
Humor: 7/10
Magical: 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10
