SALT
Players

Plot
As a highly accomplished/respected CIA officer, Evelyn Salt is a diamond in the rough. On the evening of her anniversary, she’s called in for a last minute emergency cross examination of a Russian prisoner, and a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Without any solid explanation, Salt immediately takes off and initiates the goose-chaseof the century to avoid disclosing the truth behind her identity.

Personal Comment
Still remember Tom Cruise at Mission Impossible? And now a Female action movie is great isn't it?
The Plot/The Flow
mainly about KGA- CIA (at the United States & Russia).
I am not the kind of history person, so I am not sure if the plot is really relevant to the past history.
The flow of the movies grip with suspense, emerged the audience with mystery and the eager to find out the answer. The twist & turn is kinda amazing, provided you don't read any plot and review before the movie.
SPOILER starts
A.Jolie(Salt) is like the U.S top criminal crime, one part where only 3 police car escorted her, and she run away. The last part in the helicopter, there is only 1 chain to lock her? And the key near her? Come on, be more practical.
SPOILER end

Effects
You can't find pretty much good effects in the movie. I even think that, it's kinda fake.
SPOILER starts
Especially the part where A.Jolie throw the bomb and destroy Orlov's office.
She doesn't get the impact at all.
SPOILER end.
How about the Chasing scene?
I kinda agree that is it well develop in terms of visualize, but it is unrealistic.
Imagine she survive for machine guns and car accidents.
For me it's okay, since it is an action movie, I just want to point out some points here.

The 3 main actor.
From the left:Liev Schreiber (as Ted Winter, Salt's friend and colleague) , Chiwetel Ejiofor (as Peabody, an ONCIX agent in pursuit of Salt) & Angelina Jolie (as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a KGB sleeper agent)
Personal Rating:
Plot: 8/10
Effects: 7/10
Suspense: 7/10
Fighting: 7/10
Overall: 7/10

Tekken is in the Cinemas!!

For the guys out there, don't tell me you didn't play Tekken before. Still remember the feeling of how hard you press the controller while playing
Tekken - play station
Guess what, TEKKEN is in the cinema.
You don't have to grab the controller anymore, you can sit down and relax.
Characters in Tekken the movie
The character I like the most would be
Christie
I know she is a female character but please do not under estimate her.
She has a more playful, dancing movement compare to others (the Capoeira)
She is actually quite strong you know?
look at her abs!
You know all the guys like Jin, Mishima, Kazuya and etc is so strong and muscular, do you think this girl is going to win them in the tournament?

And of course 1 more thing, she looks hot in the video game, even look hotter when Kelly Overton act as Christie!

Description of her. (Tekken 4)
Source: Wikia
Christie is the granddaughter of the Capoeira master who taught Eddy Gordo the art of Capoeira during his incarceration in prison. While in prison, Eddy swore an oath to the master to pass on the art of Capoeira to his granddaughter.
Eddy
(the one wearing green-yellow suit)
Eddy sought out Christie shortly after his return from The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 and taught her the art of Capoeira, just as he promised his master. After only two years of tutelage, Eddy turned Christie into an impressive fighter.
(Capoiera is a dancing fighting style)

But soon thereafter, Eddy abruptly disappeared, leaving Christie only with the words, "I must seek vengeance against the enemy responsible for the death of my father."
(I think that is how she become so strong in fighting)

Troubled by his sudden and mysterious disappearance, Christie chases after Eddy with her only lead — The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4.
(End of description)

DAMN! I really can't wait to watch Kelly Overton act as Christie, see how she fight!
and of course the other fighters like Eddy & Jin.
I hope this will be a good action movie.

Coffee with Nuffies - Veen Dee

Date: 18 June 2010 (Friday)
Time: 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Venue: Nuffnang KL office, Jln Yap Ah Shak

Wonder how's the environment of Nuffnang's Office?
Basically, they are surrounded by Oranges the Orange wall

Finally I had a chance to meet the Nuffnang's staff!

Luckily Vince guide me to the office, if not I would not locate which building is the Nuffnang's office at Jalan Yap Ah Shak.

While waiting Samantha, Adrian and Cheryl,
Vince and I had the coffee from their very own brewed machine.
We went to their meeting room, to had our coffee session.
This round we have Veen Dee with us.
Basically all the time, XinXian & Veen Dee chit-chatted with us.
They show us the office and different departments. The Technical Support team, The Blogger Relations team, The Marketing team, & The Adv. team.
Technical support helps to deal with the server, computer stuffs and etc.
The Blogger relations deal with the bloggers.
The Marketing find ways to help Nuffnang earn more.
and the Adv team distribute the advertisement to the blogs.

We do ask question like, how Nuffnang distrube the advertisement to the blogs. Based on what basis and etc. It is all based on what the client want. The Adv team will help to sort out the advertisement to the blogger's blog.

During the conversation, it's not that technical after all. It's not like a Ask and Answer session. We even get to know more what happen to Veen Dee. Especially the first day of her work, "fired" by Timothy.
Bloggers in action. Vince, Cheryl & Samantha
Something more interesting during the coffee session...
is that
Adrian perform some magic tricks for us & the staffs.
He actually bend a fork or I shall name it as illusion.
Common stuff that happen at the office will be, TWEET-jacked. That's why it is kinda dangerous to leave your computer on when you are away.
The next moment when you come back, you saw something like "I am fat." at your twitter updates.
We do ask that what do you all usually had for lunch. They says that around this area there are many stuffs to eat. But sometimes they even drive to Klang just to eat BakKutTeh for lunch.

We do get to know that Timothy is also very serious when it deals with work, and for him deadline is very important.
We even share our haunted experience together.

I prepare this, to stick it at the Nuffnang Foot Prints.
Spotted mine?
Do know that, Veen Dee's 3months intern is going to end, therefore she will be not around at Nuffnang anymore. Hope that she will get the job she wants, wish you all the best. =)

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (movie review)

Thanks to Nuffnang for the invites to watch
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
How I get it? Check out my contest post HERE

Date: 20 July 2010
Time: 9pm
Venue: GSC 1 Utama

Director: Jon Turteltaub
Writers: Lawrence Konner, Mark Rosenthal, Matt Lopez, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard
Cast: Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, Toby Kebbell, Alice Krige, Monica Bellucci, Omar Benson Miller
Original Music By: Trevor Rabin

Plot
Balthazar Blake (Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Personal Comment
The Humor
Besides all the Good vs Evil, there are elements of humor in this movie. I am sure that you can laugh while enjoying the movie, as the film is funny compare to the trailer.
I think this is because Jay Baruchel is able to act innocent, especially his look is really damn innocent.
SPOILER starts,
the scene where Jay Baruchel is train by Nicholas Cage to use the Plasma energy ball is definitely entertaining. Not just acting, even the way the dialogues are funny! end.

Effects
since the movie talks about magical adventure & imagination, so most of the time the actors are acting infront of Green Screen background. This is the best way to produce a better visual effects.
SPOILER starts,
I love the part how they turn fake creatures into a real creatures. The Dragon summon by The Wizard call Sun Lok, definitely a good effects without 3D end.

Perfect combo
Combo? What combo? You see everyone actor have their own characteristic.
Nicolas Cage looks COOL, by wearing a black suit all the time.
Jay Baruchel looks HONEST, you think that he is one dumb ass but you are wrong.

Alfred Molina looks EVIL, the way he act like he is the best of all.
Toby Kebbel looks STYLISH, yeah his wearing really took my attention.

Teresa Palmer looks so SWEET, I love her smile, but too bad, she doesn't really act in most of the scene, the important part she will be acting is the climax.

Overall: moderately entertaining, visual effects thumbs up, straight to the point, not draggy, only lacks of chemistry bonding at the Love story for eg: Nicolas Cage is in love with Monica Belluci.

Personal Rating:
Plot: 7/10
Effects: 8/10
Humor: 7/10
Magical: 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10
