DAY 1 (15/2/10)

dad drove to LCC Terminal and reached there about 7.30am for our 10.30am flight to Bali.

While waiting at the Boarding room, called my babe and say goodbye to her. =)

after 3 hours of flight...
reached Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport @ 1.30pm

meet up with the travel agent AhChin, and welcome us with Flower Garland

proceed to check in White Rose Hotel

we are so damn hungry and we asked the tour guide - AhChin about Pork food cause we saw few shops selling Pork.
so he brought us to this shop.

45 minutes car ride to
SAHADEWA stage Chandra Budaya
(Bali Gianyar 80582)

for the most dramatic KECAK DANCE

About Kecak Dance (Click Here)
The story of Kecak Dance (Click Here)

Taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, the dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita, who has been kidnapped by the evil King of Lanka. Unlike other dances, there is no gamelan orchestra accompanying it. Instead, a troupe of over 150 bare-chested men serve as the chorus, making a wondrous cacophany of synchronized "chak-achak-achak" clicking sounds while swaying their bodies and waving their hands.

our seats
(cousin Ming, ME, cousin Bing, dad)

We arrived there quite early, therefore we can have the seats in front.
I didn't expect much people for this show, but end up around 400-500 people watching the famous Kecak Dance.

The chorus begin its chanting,
waving their hands in the air

various performers

After the Kecak dance,
it is the Sangyang Djaran (Fire Trance Dance)
*it is the most exciting dance*

1st, a monk praying, letting the blue shirt guy
in trance mode.

2. setting up a burning coconut shells

3. He charges through the embers and dance!
Picture 3: He kicks the flame
Picture 4: He sits on the flame

For your information, he is bare footing.
I do believe that some kind of God enter his body.

Having worked himself into a trance for the performance,
it takes a while for the dance to come back down.
NOTE the ash on his feet.

I don't even know that the guy is in trance mode, until when we are going back to hotel, AhChin (tour guide) told us about it.

I even laugh madly during the show
while everyone is so tense up looking at the trance dance.

  10. @Coerlly, I need time to update day 2 omg!

@Cloudfly, if it is 6 days I think can tour around Bali already. Cause if 4days we just tour around part of Bali only. If you don't mind visit more places at there and enjoy the beautiful scenary there, you can stay longer. ^^
But personally I think that 6 days is more than enough.
