PLOT
Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared. “Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.
She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls—the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish)—to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm).
Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey—if they succeed—will set them free.
Personal Comments (may contains spoiler, read at your own risk)
Sucker Punch is an action-fantasy-science fiction movie.
Computer graphics is an important elements.
For me it's like video game I played- the Samurai Warriors.
(the first part Baby Doll fight)
So the computer graphic is good in this movie, doesn't look that bad and fake when Baby Doll and the gang fights around. You don't have to say whether it's realistic, cause for all the action part it's Baby Doll imagination.
Actions
(Human vs Robots?)
It seems like the girls really did a lot of hard work, like hard core training? For me, their fighting looks quite real, maybe is it cause of the Computer Graphics?
But I did a search (Link here)
Vanessa Hudgens "I trained with Navy Seals for five months. It was the most intense thing that anyone could ever do. I was bawling my eyes out because they push you so hard. But it's amazing what you find from it. When you go so far you find a certain Zen within that and you know you can do anything. It's very empowering."
— Vanessa Hudgens trained with Navy Seals to prepare for her role in Sucker Punch / March 22, 2010
So they really went for a training for this movie shooting, now I know why their fighting looks real.
Love this cute bunny machine control by Amber!
Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie
(that's the girl I wanna watch, but too bad, not much scene focus on her)
Wise Man (Scott Glenn) who helps the girls.
He told them to find 5 items to set themselves free.
Some inspiring quotes, Wise Man: If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything
Lastly you would have realised, is the scene took place Mental Hospital or Prostitute/Club place?
Watch it and you will know why I ask this question!
